2 Car MVA sends Yorkville Woman to Hospital

The New Hartford Police Department investigated a two-car motor vehicle accident Friday morning that sent a Yorkville woman to the hospital.  According to Patrolman J.D. Gehringer the accident occurred on Middle Settlement Rd. near the Presbyterian Home around 9:00 am. 

The accident occurred when a vehicle being driven by David Siegel, age 30, of Clinton was westbound on Middle Settlement Rd, Siegel lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway surface.  Siegel’s vehicle spun and crossed the centerline of the roadway, and struck an eastbound vehicle being operated by Rose Murphy, age 41, of Yorkville.  Murphy’s vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch on the south side of the roadway.  Murphy suffered a hand laceration and back injury.  She was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Hartford for treatment of her injuries.  Siegel, who was not injured in the accident, was issued a summons for failing to keep right.  Edwards’s Ambulance assisted the New Hartford Police Department at the scene.
