New Hartford Police Arrest Five Juveniles For Shoplifting

On Saturday February 3, 2007 at approximately 3:30pm New Hartford police responded to J.C. Penney’s in response to a report by store security personnel that five female juveniles were observed stealing multiple items of jewelry and clothing from within the store. Upon arrival police arrested five female juveniles, all of whom were charged with petit larceny. J.C. Penney’s store security was able to recover all of the stolen merchandise, which had a total value of $287.00. Each juvenile was processed and issued a New Hartford Police Juvenile Aid appearance ticket prior to being released to their parents. Each juvenile will appear along with their parents at the New Hartford Police Juvenile Aid division at a later date. While police were investigating this incident J.C. Penney store security alerted police they were detaining two addition juvenile females for shoplifting in an unrelated incident. These females were also arrested, issued appearance tickets, and released to their parents.
