On February 12, 2007, the Oneida County Drug Task Force concluded a two-week investigation into the Sale, Possession and Distribution of Cocaine in the Utica area. With the assistance of the Utica Police Community Policing Unit, a No Knock Search Warrant was executed at 7 Noyes St. 2nd floor rear apartment.

Located in the apartment were Thyrus Benson, 20, Anthony Hill, 45, and Theresa Howard, 42, all of the above address.

Investigator’s located and seized the following items; 2.5 ounces of Crack Cocaine, $1,690.00 in cash, a scale, packaging material, a quantity of 9mm and 40cal ammunition, and a loaded 9mm magazine. No weapon was found.

As a result of the investigation and the seizure the following charges were filed; Hill, Benson and Howard were all charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree – Class B Felonies, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree – Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree – Class A Misdemeanor.

The New Hartford Police Department is a member of the Oneida Drug Task Force.
