02/21/2007 Three New York Mills Teens Arrested for Robbery
The New Hartford Police Department arrested three New York Mills teenagers for Robbery early Wednesday morning after responding to an assault complaint on New Hartford Street near the Ramada Inn. According to Patrolman J.D. Gehringer, the three teens, Michael Teti Jr., age 19, Christopher Landsdall, age 18, and Stephen Murray, age 18 all of New York Mills were arrested following an incident around 1:15 am on New Hartford St. near the Ramada Inn. The incident occurred after the teens approached two men walking and demanded that the men give them their money. After the men refused to give them their money, one of the men was struck in the head by one of the teenager’s causing him to fall over in the street. The teens stole the man’s hat after it was knocked off his head. The three teenagers then fled in a vehicle towards New York Mills. The vehicle and teenagers were located a short time later by New York Mills Police at a residence on New Hartford St., after one of the victims was able to give police the plate number and a description of the vehicle. After a positive identification by the two victims, and the recovery of the hat, police took the three teens into custody. The three were charged with Robbery 2nd, a class C Felony. The teens were brought to New Hartford Town Court where they were arraigned and sent to Oneida County Jail in lieu of bail.
