On February 22, 2007, at approximately 7:45am, the Oneida County Drug Task Force, assisted by the Utica Police Patrol Division, concluded a month long investigation with the execution of a No-Knock Search Warrant at 1216 Gray Ave., apartment 5E, in the City of Utica.

Investigators entered the apartment and located Joseph I. Bailey, 27, hiding behind the shower curtain armed with a knife. Bailey was secured and a search of the apartment was conducted. Located and seized as a result of the search was over $900 in cash, 3 ounces of Crack Cocaine, a quantity of Marihuana, a scale and several other knives.

Bailey was charged with;

• 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree – Class B Felonies.
• Criminal Possession of a weapon 3rd degree – Class D Felony.
• 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree – Class A Misdemeanors.
• Criminally using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree – Class A Misdemeanor.

The New Hartford Police Department is a member of the Oneida Drug Task Force.
