Marcy Man Charged with Using Stolen Debit Card

The New Hartford Police Department charged a Marcy man with using a stolen debit card to take money from another person’s checking account Saturday evening.  According to police, the incident occurred back in January of 2007, when Vincent H. Brancaccio, age 26, of River Rd. in Marcy, used a stolen debit card to withdraw $500.00 dollars from another person’s checking account at the Rome Savings Bank in New Hartford.  A photo of Brancaccio was taken by the ATM’s camera and Brancaccio was positively identified through the photo, after it was learned that he was an acquaintance of the victim’s daughter.  Brancaccio was arraigned on charges of Forgery second, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree, both felonies, and petit larceny.  Brancaccio was arraigned in New Hartford Town Court and sent to Oneida County Jail on $500 cash bail.  Brancaccio will reappear in Town Court at a later date.
