Search Warrant Leads to Seizure of 162 Bags of Heroin

The Oneida County Drug Enforcement Task Force with the assistance of the Utica / New Hartford Emergency Response Team executed a no knock search warrant at 1543 Miller Street, 2nd Floor, Utica, NY arresting Cinthia Aponte, 26 of that address. Aponte was arrested after investigators located 162 bags of heroin, an additional ½ gram of heroin, a digital scale, 47 grams of marihuana and $1265.00 in cash. Aponte was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (Misdemeanor), two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (Misdemeanor, and one count of Criminal Possession of Marihuana 5th (Misdemeanor). Aponte is scheduled to be arraigned  in Utica City Court later this afternoon at which time her case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for grand jury proceedings.
