Domestic Dispute Leads to Multiple Charges
On May 8th at 6:40 PM the New Hartford Police Dept. responded to a report of a domestic dispute that led to the arrest of a West Winfield man.
According to Patrolman Jarod T. Petrie, the incident started at approximately 6:30 pm Tuesday when David A. Annatone, 24, of West Winfield saw his ex-wife, Yamile Annatone 27, of Utica, drive past him. David got into his vehicle and started to chase Yamile down Oxford Rd. Yamile turned onto Oneida St. where David used his vehicle to block Yamile’s vehicle, forcing her to pull over to the side of the road. An argument between David and Yamile then ensued in which David took the keys from her and threw them into woods on the side of the road. David then ripped the license plates off of the vehicle Yamile was driving. When a passenger sitting in Yamile’s vehicle, Daniel Teesdale, 20, attempted to intervene in the argument, David retrieved a sledgehammer from his vehicle and shattered the passenger side window where Daniel was sitting. Daniel then got out of the vehicle and a scuffle ensued between him and David. David then heard the sirens of the police responding and he attempted to flee the area in his vehicle. New Hartford Police Patrolman Petrie caught up with him and managed to stop David’s vehicle. Patrolman Petrie placed David at gunpoint and ordered him out of the vehicle. David complied and was immediately taken into custody. The Willowvale Fire Company treated both Yamile Annatone and Daniel Teesdale on scene for minor injuries.
David Annatone was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class D felony, Criminal Mischief in the second degree, a class D felony, two counts of Menacing in the second degree and Reckless Driving which are misdemeanors, and Harassment in the second degree which is a violation. Annatone was arraigned in the Town of New Hartford court and placed in the Oneida County Jail on $1600.00 cash bail. Annatone is due back in court on May 15, 2007 at 2:30pm.
The New Hartford Police were assisted by the NYS Police, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Dept., the Willowvale Fire Company and Edwards Ambulance.
