Search Warrant Leads to Seizure of Two Pounds of Cocaine
The Oneida County Drug Task Force, the United States Postal Inspectors Office, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration with the assistance of the Utica/New Hartford Police Department’s Emergency Response Team executed a “no knock” search warrant at 808 Wager Street, 2nd floor, arresting three.
Arrested was Raul M. Planco, 30, of 514 Jefferson Ave., Ivan A. Velez-Ortiz, 24, of 808 Wager St., 2nd floor, and Alex A. Velez-Rodriguez, 33, of 1667 Steuben St., after the seizure of over two pounds of cocaine, drug paraphernalia including a cocaine press and scales. Planco, Ortiz and Rodriguez were all charged with one count of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st (A-1 Felony), one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (Misdemeanor), and three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (Misdemeanor).
All three defendants are being held at the Utica Police Department pending their arraignment in Utica City Court tomorrow morning. Investigators estimate the street value of the cocaine at $90,000.00. The cocaine press and cloth bags are used to repress cut cocaine into kilo amounts.
