November 9, 2006

On November 9, 2006, New Hartford Police responded to Wal-Mart in Consumer Square after Wal-Mart Loss Prevention reported a larceny suspect fled on foot.   Loss Prevention Officers chased the suspect through the parking lot and subsequently located the suspect inside Barnes and Noble where New Hartford Police Officers took him into custody. New York Mills Police also assisted.

New Hartford Police arrested John B. Muscarella, 28, of Rome and charged him with 1 count of Petit Larceny. The suspect had taken over $300 of electronics from Wal-Mart. Upon doing a warrants check, it was discovered Mr. Muscarella was wanted by the Oneida County Sheriffs Dept. and Yorkville Police Dept. for Grand Larceny charges.

Muscarella was arraigned in New Hartford Town Court and committed to the Oneida County Jail.
