On November 23,  2006 at approximately 2:45 am the New Hartford Police investigated a report of a disturbance that occurred in the parking lot of the Killabrew Saloon located on State Route 12B in the Town of New Hartford, NY.  Elizabeth A. Turner, age 21, residing in New Hartford, stated that she was approached by a female in said parking lot who attempted to steal her purse.  A struggle ensued and the contents of the purse fell out.  Turner stated this female then grabbed her wallet that had fallen onto the ground and fled from the scene in a small black car. 

During the course of the investigation several witnesses were interviewed.  On November 25, 2006, Turner was arrested by Sgt. Michael Inserra for filing a false report and filing a false written instrument, both misdemeanors.  It was determined that Turner was not involved in any dispute in the parking lot of the Killabrew Saloon or anywhere else.  The wallet was lost earlier in the night in North Utica and recovered in the morning by a female taking a walk.  The wallet was recovered with all of the contents intact, including cash and credit cards. 

Turner was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in the Town of New Hartford Court at a later date.
