Bridgewater Man Charged With DWI and Resisting Arrest

December 10, 2006

Patrolman J. M. Spinella of the New Hartford Police arrested Harold F. Ostrander, age 38 of Bridgewater for Driving While Intoxicated a misdemeanor and resisting arrest which is also a misdemeanor after Ostrander was stopped for operating his motor vehicle on State Route 840 with only three tires early Sunday morning.

 
Ostrander was observed colliding into a guide rail several times on State Route 840 where his vehicle finally stopped when it got stuck on the guide rail.  Ostrander was subsequently placed under arrest for DWI.  At the time of arrest Ostrander refused to place his hands behind his back.  After a brief struggle with police Ostrander was taken into custody.

 
Ostrander was transported to the New Hartford Police Department where he later refused to submit a breath sample to determine the level of his intoxication.  Ostrander was arraigned in front of Judge Vanslyke and he posted $500.00 dollars bail and was released.  Ostrander is scheduled to return to Town of New Hartford Court on 12/12/06 at 2:30 PM.
