On December 8, 2006, at approximately 7:00pm, the Oneida County Drug Task Force assisted by members of the Utica Police Department’s Community Policing Unit and the New Hartford Police Department’s Emergency Response Team, executed a “No Knock” Search Warrant at 1523 Kemble St. in the City of Utica.
The following items were located and seized during the search: 9 grams of Crack Cocaine, 1 gram of Marihuana, $305.00 in cash, and assorted Drug Paraphernalia. The following individuals were charged as a result: Willie Williams, Jr., 4/19/59 of 1011 Smith Pl., James “Crazy” Scarborough, 10/6/72 of 1523 Kemble St., and Marcel Frank, 2/23/89 0f 114 Wall Street. All three were charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, and Criminally using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree. Frank was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.
James “Crazy” Scarborough is out on bail and is awaiting sentencing in Federal Court. As a result of a wire tap investigation he was arrested by the Oneida County Drug Task Force and the FBI for his involvement with a Jamaican gang that was based in Utica.
The Oneida County Drug Task Force consists of Prosecutors and Police Officers from the Utica, Rome and New Hartford Police Departments, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oneida County District Attorney’s Office.
