- - - - - Press Release - - - - - December 15, 2006 Genesee Street Closed for Personal Injury Accident The New Hartford Police Department investigated a two-car personal injury accident that occurred at the intersection of Genesee Street and Huntington Ave at 5:09pm. A westbound vehicle driven by Mary A. Terrrell, 55, of Steuben Street, Utica, made a left hand turn in front of an eastbound vehicle driven by Salvatore J. Tantillo, 39, of Higby Road, New Hartford. The resulting collision resulted in injury to both drivers. Terrell sustained a head injury while Tantillo sustained head and back injuries. Terrell was taken by ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital while Tantillo was taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital by ambulance. Terrell was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way while making a left turn. Tantillo was issued a summons for aggravated unlicensed operation. Both tickets are returnable in the Village of New Hartford Traffic Court on a later date. Genesee Street was closed by police and fire police while crews worked to remove the cars from the roadway. The accident was investigated by Ofc. Steve Laymon.
