Councilman's Bonding Vote Message
Dear Town Residents and Employees:
Re: Bonding Vote
The upcoming Bonding vote on March 29, 2007 covers a wide range of issues facing New Hartford. The Town Board developed and adopted a responsible operating budget which includes borrowing money for projects and major equipment – all benefiting residents for years to come. Our goal is to fix the long over due problems, make New Hartford safer for our residents, employees and visitors, and continually improve resident services and our quality of life.
When we go into the polling booth, we’ll have an opportunity to vote on 8 propositions. They are summarized as follows:
Proposition #1: Purchase of 2 Snow Plow and Sander Trucks Proposition #2: Purchase of 2 Multi-Use Vehicles (used for green waste, trash & leaf pick-up) Proposition #3: Updating of Highway Building & Improvement of Emergency Systems Proposition #4: Installation of Storm Water Management Solutions (retention basins, step dams, etc.) Proposition #5: Building Purchase for Police Department, Codes, Planning, Engineering & Assessor Proposition #6: Purchase of 4 Highway & Parks Department Repair & Maintenance Trucks Proposition #7: Installation of Energy Efficient Lighting in Highway Building & Rec Center Proposition #8: Funding to Connect Existing Sidewalks and Trailways
If you have any questions prior to January 16th, please feel free to contact any member of the Town Board.
Sincerely,
Robert A. Payne, III Councilman, 1st Ward
