New Hartford Police Commission

The New Hartford Police Commission was a 5-member panel.  All members served 5-year terms.   The Commission was an independent body and acted as a liaison between the Town/Village Boards and the Police Department.   It handled public complaints and assisted the Police Department as necessary.   The Commission meetings were held every fourth Wednesday of each month at the Jerome K. Madden Justice Building.

Police Commission Establishes Award  (Press Release)

The Police Commission has established the Raymond L. Philo Award of Excellence to recognize Department Members for Meretorious Service. The Award is named for Police Chief Philo and he is named 1st recipient by the Commission.
