The New Hartford Police Department is a full-time, professional force that patrols
a total of 25 square miles within the Town and Village of New Hartford.
The New Hartford Police
Department is committed to providing outstanding public safety services
to our residents, business owners, and those that come to our community
to visit and shop. We realize that in order for our business
community to prosper we must work together to provide a safe environment
for customers. Our concept of community policing relies on
establishing partnerships with our residents and business community to
keep New Hartford safe and maintain a high quality of life.

The Police Commission
The New Hartford Police Commission acts as a liaison between the Town Board
and the Police Department. It handles public complaints and assists the Police
Department as necessary. The Commission holds meetings every fourth Wednesday of
each month at the Jerome K. Madden Justice Building. These meetings are open to
the public.
On November 11, 2005, at the New
Hartford American Legion's annual Veteran's Day Observance, the New
Hartford PBA donated $1,000 towards the planned Veteran's Memorial
to be built in the green space opposite Utica National.
