Vehicle Stop Leads to Stolen Vehicle Recovery
The New Hartford Police Department arrested and charged five males ranging from ages 18-20 for criminal possession of stolen property, a class D felony in the early hours of Saturday morning after a traffic stop conducted by Ptl. Michael T. Kowalski revealed that the vehicle they were riding in had been reported stolen several days earlier. On 07-28-07 at about 2:30 am Ptl. Michael T. Kowalski conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant for a speed violation on Genesee St. A subsequent check of the registration showed the vehicle had been reported stolen on 07-22-07 out Wallkill NY. All occupants of the vehicle were arrested and arraigned before Judge Vanslyke and remanded to the Oneida County jail in lieu of bail. All defendants are to re-appear in court on 08-01-07 for further court proceedings. Below is the list of defendants and their charges.
