Utica Woman Injured in Crash

A Utica woman was injured in a one-car motor vehicle accident Saturday morning on Woods Park Dr in the Town of New Hartford. 

According to Patrolman J.D. Gehringer, the accident happened around 6:45 am, when a vehicle being operated by Carrie A Miller, age 35, of Utica, was on Woods Park Dr in the New Hartford Business Park.  Miller had swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway and lost control of her vehicle on the snow covered roadway.  Miller’s vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in a field off the roadway.  Miller complained of back and neck pain and was transported to St Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica by Central Oneida County Ambulance for further treatment.  New Hartford Fire Department assisted at the scene.  The accident is still under investigation and no tickets have been issued at this time.
