2-Car Crash on Route 5 causes Minor Injuries
On 01-05-09 at about 3:49 pm the New Hartford Police responded to a two-car personal injury motor vehicle accident on State Route 5.
Patrolman M.T. Kowalski states that Donna M. Maggiolino, age 37 of Utica, was traveling west on Route 5 approaching the intersection of the exit ramp of Sangertown Mall onto Route 5. Maggiolino attempted to stop for the yellow caution light, but slid into the intersection. Maggiolino’s vehicle collided with a vehicle being driven Dean F. Zumpano, age 41 of New Hartford. Zumpano was exiting the Sangertown Mall onto Route 5 to travel east. The collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles. Maggiolino and her passenger were not injured in the crash. Zumpano complained of head and shoulder pain. Maggiolino was cited for failure to reduce speed at an intersection and operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance. Zumpano was also cited for operating a motor vehicle without proof of insurance. All tickets are returnable to the Town of New Hartford Court at a later date.
