Utica Teen Admits to Grand Larceny

David Punko, age 17 of Utica, admitted this morning to stealing computers from the Bradley Elementary School in New Hartford back in 2009. Punko will face up to six months in jail and five years probation when he is sentenced February 24th in Oneida County Court. He pleaded guilty to a single Grand Larceny charge in satisfaction of all charges against him, stated New Hartford Police Chief Raymond Philo.

Chief Philo stated that the school was burglarized in June of 2009 where over $5,000.00 in computer equipment was stolen. Another Utica teenager, Yuriy Lashchuk, 17, and a 15-year-old juvenile were also arrested in connection with the crime. The 15 year old was referred to Oneida County Family Court.
