TRAFFIC LIGHT REPAIR SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY

TRAFFIC DELAYS POSSIBLE 8am – 1pm

Repairs to the traffic signal at the intersection of Oneida Street, Kellogg Road and Chapman Road in Washington Mills are scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2009.

Crews from the Town of New Hartford Highway Department and from Power Line Contracting Corp. will be shutting off the traffic signal at about 8:00 a.m. Thursday Morning to allow for repairs and continued upgrades to the signal. It is anticipated that the work will last until about 1:00 p.m. During the time the traffic signal is turned off flagmen will be controlling traffic flow through the intersection.

A large volume of commuter and commercial traffic passes through this intersection daily. Because of the nature of the repair TRAFFIC DELAYS ARE ANTICIPATED.

MOTORISTS WHO NORMALLY TRAVEL THROUGH THIS INTERSECTION ARE BEING URGED TO SEEK AN ALTERNATE ROUTE DURING THE TIMES THAT THE SIGNAL WILL BE TURNED OFF.
