Larceny from Kohl's Leads to Drug Charges
Officer Matt Sica arrested Brandon M. Shorey, age 26, of 13 Bunker Ave in Yorkville for numerous charges following a foot chase. New Hartford Police received a 911 call from Kohl’s Department Store advising loss prevention officers were attempting to apprehend a suspect. New Hartford Police Officers chased this suspect on foot from the area of Hannaford Grocery Store until he was apprehended after a brief struggle near Price Chopper on Route 5A.
Officer Matt Sica charged Shorey with larceny, resisting arrest, and possession of a hypodermic instrument and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. Shorey did possess a quantity of heroin and several suboxone pills. He was arraigned before Judge James VanSlyke and committed to Oneida County Jail in lieu of $2500.00 bail.
