Two Injured inCar - Driver Faces DWI Charge
Two New Hartford men escaped serious injury Tuesday morning following a moto vehicle accident on Clinton Road that damaged two parked vehicles as well as the vehicle the men were driving in.
According to New Hartford Police Officer Christopher Burns, at 3:56a.m. on Tuesday morning a 911 call was received for a personal injury motor vehicle accident on Clinton Road. The accident occurred when a vehicle driven by Kevin Brown, age 20, of New Hartford left the roadway on Clinton Road. The vehicle then crossed over the oncoming lane of traffic before striking a vehicle parked in the driveway of 130 Clinton Road. After Brown’s vehicle struck the 1st vehicle, it continued on through two small trees and struck a second vehicle in the driveway of 128 Clinton Road. Brown’s vehicle came to rest between 128 and 126 Clinton Road and did sustain heavy front-end damage. Both alcohol and speed were major contributing factors in this motor vehicle crash.
Brown, and a passenger in his vehicle, James Moore, also of New Hartford, suffered only minor injuries, which were treated at the scene by the New Hartford Fire Department and Edwards’ Ambulance personnel.
Brown was arrested and ticketed for charges of Speed Not Reasonable and Prudent, Failure to Keep Right, Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs. All charges will be answered at a later date in the Town of New Hartford Court.
