                                             FRENCH RD. COLLISION INJURES ONE

                       S.U.V. ROLLS OVER AFTER COLIIDING WITH PICK UP TRUCK

New Hartford Police are investigating the cause of a collision involving a S.U.V. and a pick up truck that collided at the intersection of French Road and Chenango Road.  George Philip age 74 of Utica, the driver of the S.U.V., was assisted from the vehicle by firefighters from the New York Mills Fire Department.  George Philip was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for shoulder and leg pain following the collision.  The driver of the pick up truck, Kenneth Cutler age 60 of Holland Patent, was not injured in the collision.

The collision occurred when the S.U.V. entered the intersection while traveling in a southerly direction on French Road and the pick up truck entered the intersection while traveling in an easterly direction on Chenango Road.  The S.U.V. sustained heavy damage as a result of the collision.  Traffic on French Road was detoured for about an hour while the scene was cleared.

Traffic at the intersection is controlled by a traffic signal.  Both drivers claimed to have the green light.
