Little Falls Man Charged as Fugitive from Justice
On Tuesday, June 16, 2009, the New Hartford Police Department responded to the Psychiatric Unit of St. Luke's Hospital regarding a discharged patient refusing to leave and becoming combative with staff members. Upon arrival, responding officers encountered Brent Austin Stasilli, age 30, of Diamond Street, Little Falls. Stasilli was subsequently escorted from the building at which time a wanted persons check revealed an outstanding warrant against Stasilli out the State of California. The warrant against Stasilli is for a violation of parole stemming from a felony conviction from an incident involving the theft of a motor vehicle and a subsequent police pursuit in the Los Angeles area.
Officials from the California Department of Parole confirmed that they wished to extradite the warrant and Stasilli was taken into custody and charged with being a fugitive from justice. He was arraigned in Town of New Hartford Court and remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility without bail.
