New Hartford Teen Injured in Crash  

The New Hartford Police Department responded to a two-car motor vehicle crash that occurred on July 15, 2010 at approximately 515pm.  According to Officer Andrew Allen, Alisha M. Tubis, 19 of New Hartford was operating her vehicle south on Jordan Road when she struck a vehicle being operated by Shawn M. Prentice, 43 of Utica.  Prentice was leaving St. Marguerite’s Home and entered the roadway in front of Tubis’ vehicle, causing a collision.  The force of the collision caused the airbags to deploy in Tubis’ vehicle.  Tubis complained of pain to her chest and was transported to a local Hospital by private vehicle.  Prentice was uninjured.  He was issued summons for Failure to Yield the Right of Way While Entering the Roadway and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Second Degree, which is a Misdemeanor.  He is scheduled to appear in the Town of New Hartford Court on a later date.
