Gun Displayed During Road Rage Incident

The New Hartford Police Department investigated a road rage incident at Sangertown Mall on Tuesday evening that left an Oswego man facing criminal charges.  The incident occurred around 7:15 pm in the parking lot of the mall near J C Penny.

According to Officer J.D. Gehringer, it was reported by a third party that two men were involved in a road rage incident in the mall parking lot and that one of the men had a gun.  It was reported that the two became involved in a road rage incident on the entrance ramp into the mall, and one of the vehicles was observed to be operating recklessly in the parking lot.  One of the men involved in the incident was located in the parking lot where the incident occurred.   During the interview with the one party at the mall, who was found to be the victim, The other party, Matthew Losurdo, age 20 of Oswego NY, went to the New Hartford Police Station to report the incident himself.  Losurdo’s vehicle description and plate number matched that of the one given by the victim at the mall.  Officers located a shotgun and rifle inside of Losurdo’s vehicle.  Losurdo was taken into custody at NHPD and charged with Menacing 2nd, a Class A Misdemeanor and Reckless Driving.  He was released on tickets and will answer the charges in New Hartford Court next month.  The police seized both of Losurdo’s guns.
