Frankfort Man Sent to Hospital Following Accident

The New Hartford Police Department Investigated a two-car accident at the intersection of Higby Road and Tilden Avenue that sent a Frankfort man to an area hospital.

According to Officer J.D. Gehringer, the accident happened around 12:17 pm, when a vehicle being operated by Laurie Ollerenshaw, age 44, of New York Mills attempted to cross Higby Road from Tilden Avenue and was struck by another vehicle, operated by Anthony Spohn, age 88, of Frankfort who was eastbound on Higby Road.  The force of the collision sent Ollerenshaw’s vehicle spinning into a ditch on the side of the road.  The accident caused a minor traffic delay at the intersection while emergency crews worked at the scene.  No injuries were reported, but Spohn was transported to St Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica for an evaluation.  Ollerenshaw was ticketed for Failing to Yield After Stopping at a Stop Sign.  She will answer the ticket at a later date in town court.  Edwards Ambulance and members of the New Hartford Fire Department and Highway Department assisted the New Hartford Police at the scene.
