NEW HARTFORD POLICE CHARGE JUVENILE WITH ROBBERY

A fifteen-year-old male juvenile was arrested by the New Hartford Police Department last evening in connection with the theft of a bicycle. Police were called to an area of the village of New Hartford near the High School at about 9:00pm last night for a reported large group of youths. It was then determined that one of the youths had been the victim of a strong arm robbery in which he was forced off of his bicycle by another. The offending juvenile then rode off with the bicycle and a cellular telephone of the victim’s. This juvenile was later identified by patrol officers and subsequently turned himself in at the New Hartford Police Department. 

This juvenile was charged with one count of Robbery in the Third Degree, a Felony,  Felony Criminal Mischief and Misdemeanor Larceny. He was then released to the custody of his parents pending family court action.
