Utica Woman Injured in Car Bus Accident

The New Hartford Police Department investigated a car bus accident that injured a Utica woman.  The accident occurred around 2:00 pm on Monday at the intersection of Commercial Dr. and Consumer Square.

According to Officer J.D. Gehringer, the accident occurred when a Centro bus also exiting the plaza struck from behind a car preparing to exit Consumer Square.  The operator of the car, Anna Fursa, age 21, of Utica was preparing to make a right turn out of Consumer Square, when she stopped for an oncoming car on Commercial Dr., and was struck from behind by the bus, which was operated by Erin Carter, age 39, also of Utica.  Fursa complained of back pain and was taken to St. Lukes Hospital for an evaluation.  There were three passengers on the bus, none of which were injured.  Carter was issued a ticket for following too closely.  New York Mills Fire Department and Edwards Ambulance assisted the New Hartford Police Department at the scene.
