WOMAN INJURED AFTER BEING STRUCK BY VEHICLE

On 8/28/07 at 5:20pm the New Hartford Police Dept. responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle at the Walmart parking lot located at Consumer Square on Commercial Dr. In the Town of New Hartford. 

An investigation revealed that 49 year old Joni Mogle of New Hartford was operating her motor vehicle on the travel lane which runs across the front of the Walmart store near the store’s entrance and exit area.  Mogle’s vehicle struck 40 year old Jane Farley also of New Hartford as Farley was exiting the store and crossing this  travel lane within the designated cross walk area.  Farley was struck by the vehicle as she was walking within the cross walk to the parking lot.  Farley was treated at the scene by the New York Mills Fire Dept. for chest and leg pain  and then transported to St. Elizabeths Hospital for further treatment.  Mogle was issued a traffic ticket for failing to obey a traffic control device, that being the yield to pedestrian signs present in the cross walk area.
