September 29 , 2009 CLINTON MAN FACES NUMEROUS CHARGES
On September 29th, 2009 the New Hartford Police arrested Timothy C. Gray, 37 of Clinton on numerous charges stemming from a string of larcenies. According to Police, on September 22nd, 2009 at about 2:00a.m. WalMart on Commercial Drive reported that a male had taken a television from the store. On September 27th, 2009 Sears in Sangertown Mall reported that a male had taken a television from their store. During the Sears larceny, Loss Prevention Personnel attempted to stop the male as he was placing the Television into the rear seat of a small green car. While attempting to apprehend the male a struggle ensued and the Loss Prevention Officer was pushed and ended up inside the back of the car. The car which was being driven by another male then fled the scene with the Loss Prevention Officer still inside. While in the car a struggle ensued between the Loss Prevention Officer and the suspects. A short time later the driver stopped the vehicle and let the Loss Prevention Officer out of the car with out the television.
Police were able to identify Gray after a reviewing Surveillance video and with the assistance of the Utica Police Department. On 09/29/09 Gray appeared at the Town Of New Hartford Court to answer a charge of Petit Larceny from an incident at WalMart on August 13th, 2009, which he was arrested for. Gray was taken into custody at the court and charged with 1 count of each of the following:
Felony: Grand Larceny in the 4th Misdemeanor: Petit Larceny, Unlawful imprisonment 2nd, Criminal Mischief 4th Violation: Harassment in the 2nd degree
Gray was arraigned in the Town Of New Hartford Court and sent to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond. He is to return to court at a later date. Additional arrests are pending. Contact Patrol Matthew Sica or James Hyatt at 315-724-7111 with any inquiries.
