Month Long Investigation Leads to Arrest of Three for Cocaine
On October 5, 2007 the Oneida County Drug Task Force concluded a month long investigation into the possession and sale of cocaine in the City of Utica..
Early Friday morning the Utica Police and the New Hartford Police Emergency Response Team along with investigators executed a “No-Knock” Search Warrant at 1570 Steuben Street, City of Utica. The subsequent search of the premise revealed over 12 grams of cocaine, $350 in cash, a digital scale and packaging material. Various types of handgun ammunition was also seized. The following persons were charged:
1. Vennie B. Coleman, 24, 1570 Steuben Street was charged with;
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree – Class B Felony
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree – Class C Felony
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree – Class A Misdemeanor
Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree – Class A Misdemeanor
2. Desiree Smith, 24, 1570 Steuben Street was charged with;
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree – Class B Felony
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree – Class C Felony
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree – Class A Misdemeanor
Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree – Class A Misdemeanor
3. Juan Williams Jr., 19, 1570 Steuben Street was charged with;
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree – Class A Misdemeanor
