Collision on Commercial Dr. sends Four People to Hospital with Injuries.

On October 29th, 2009 at 6:20pm The New Hartford Police Dept. responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident on Commercial Dr. in front of Bremers Liquors in which four people were injured.

An investigation at the scene revealed that a vehicle driven by 54 year old Maria Trainor of New Hartford, was traveling westbound on Commercial Dr. As Trainor's vehicle turned left off of Commercial Dr., into The Brermers Liquor parking lot, it was struck by a vehicle being operated by Stacy Slattery, 34, of Yorkville. Slattery's vehicle was traveling eastbound on Commercial Dr at the time of the collision.  Trainor sustained a laceration to her head.  Slattery and two of her children were also injured in the collision.  Slattery complained of neck and back pain, and her two daughters complained of chest pain.  Trainer as well as the Slattery and her daughters were treated at the scene by EMTs from the New Hartford Fire Dept. and Edwards Ambulance. Trainer as well as Slattery and her daughters were all transported by ambulance to St. Lukes Hospital for further treatment.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage, and the airbags in Slattery’s vehicle deployed.  The collision caused two lanes of Commercial Dr. to be closed for 45 minutes as police rerouted traffic to allow for the scene to be investigated and for work crews to clean fluid leaked from the damaged vehicles from  the roadway.

Trainor was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way when making a left turn, Slattery was issued a ticket for driving with an expired driver license.
