THREE MEN FACE MULTIPLE CHARGES AFTER LARCENY
On November 25, 2007 at about 4:00 PM the New Hartford Police were called to Target in Sangertown Square Mall to investigate a larceny that had just occurred. According to Patrolman Ray Hamo, Security at Target observed three males working together to steal video game controllers. As the males were leaving the store security attempted to stop them. Two of the males, Michael D. Hayes, 20 of Utica and Vikranth C. Potluri. 19 of Clinton stopped when security approached. The third male David A. Murray, 23 of Canton, Connecticut fled security on foot and was chased by Mall Security. The New Hartford Police located Murray running through the parking lot and took him into custody. The three are accused of taking merchandise with a value in excess of $160.00. While searching Potluri and Murray 2 Hypodermic needles were located concealed in hidden pockets of their pants. Also Potluri was in possession of a razor blade, which he used to remove a security device from some of the merchandise. The three men were charged with the following charges: Vikranth C. Potluri- Petit Larceny (Misdemeanor) Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument (Misdemeanor) Criminal Possession of an Anti Security Device (Misdemeanor) David A. Murray- Petit Larceny Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument Michael D. Hayes- Petit larceny
A background check of Murray showed that he has a history of arrests in the following states New York, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania dating back to 2003. All three were arraigned in the Town Of New Hartford Court and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail. They are all due back in court at a later date. Please contact Ptl.
