Utica Woman Faces Grand Larceny Charges for Stealing Wallet  

The New Hartford Police Department arrested a Utica woman for Grand Larceny on Thursday following an investigation of a stolen wallet containing credit cards and a cell phone.  The theft occurred at the Block Buster Video store on Commercial Dr in New Hartford on November 19th 2009.

According to Officer J.D. Gehringer, Heyli M. Alsante, age 18, from Saratoga St Utica was charged with Grand Larceny 4th a class E Felony.  An investigation into the incident began after an employee of the store reported her wallet and cell phone missing.  Using store surveillance footage, police were able to identify Alsante as the person responsible for the theft.  Alsante is scheduled to answer the charge next month in town court.
