TWO ARRESTED FOLLOWING SHOPLIFTING INCIDENT 

Two Utica residents were arrested Sunday following a shoplifting incident at Old Navy on Commercial Drive.

Arrested was Candida D. Morton, age 34 of Elizabeth Street and Harry J. Donnelly, Jr., age 33 of Blandina Street.

Store employees called police after observing the two removing the wrapping and packaging from store merchandise and stuffing it into a bag. The two walked out of the store without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise concealed in the bag.

A responding police unit located Donnelly in the store parking lot and arrested him. Police located Morton on Commercial Drive a short distance from the store and arrested her. Both were issued appearance tickets for petit larceny. They have been scheduled to answer the charges in new Hartford Court on January 15th.

21 articles of stolen merchandise valued at $185 were recovered.
