Three-car collision sends one Women to the Hospital
On December 12th, 2009 at about 3:45 pm, the New Hartford Police Department responded to a reported three car automobile collision involving injuries on Commercial Drive in front of the Kmart plaza.
Angela Evans, age 41, of Clayville, was traveling East on Commercial Drive when she became distracted by a drawing her attention from the roadway which caused her to fail to notice traffic stopped ahead. This, in turn, caused, Evan's vehicle to strike the rear of a vehicle being operated by Peter Butchko, age 50, of Ilion. The force of the impact then caused Butchkos vehicle to be pushed forward into a vehicle being operated by Ricci Sayers, age 21, of Watertown. All passengers involved in the collision were treated at the scene by members of the New Hartford Fire Department for minor injuries. Evan's was transported to St. Lukes y Edwards Ambulance for further evaluation of injuries to her leg. Evans vehicle was towed from the scene due to extensive damage. Evans was issued a traffic ticket for following to closely and is scheduled to answer the charge in town court at a later date.
