Taking Wrong Car Leads to DWI arrest  

A 53-year-old New Hartford man was arrested for Aggravated DWI after he got into and drove away in the wrong car.

On Saturday (12/12) at 12:01am the New Hartford Police received a call from the Ramada Inn on New Hartford Street reporting that a vehicle had just been stolen from the parking lot. The reporting person stated he had started the car up to let it warm up and upon returning to the car about ten minutes later the car was gone. As the police were arriving at the Ramada Inn the vehicle had just returned. It was determined that George Serour of Washington Drive had taken the car thinking it was his vehicle. Serour was returning the car after he realized he taken the wrong car.

Serour was arrested by Officer Justin Gehringer and transported to the New Hartford Police Station. A breath test was administered and the results were greater than a .18% resulting in the Aggravated DWI charge. Serour is to appear in New Hartford Court on January 28, 2010.
