VULGAR LANGUAGE ON BUS LEADS TO CHARGESResponding Police Officer shoved by suspect
New Hartford Police have filed charges against an area man after he disrupted service on a Centro bus.
Police were called to the New Hartford Shopping Center Wednesday afternoon at about 4:00 p.m. by the driver of A Centro bus. The bus driver reported that while driving on Genesee Street in the Village of New Hartford a passenger on the bus began to yell obscenities. There were about a dozen passengers on the bus at that time. The driver stopped the bus at the shopping center and waited for police to arrive so that the passenger could be removed.
When police arrived the passenger shoved one of the officers that had responded to the call. The man was taken into custody and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Harassment and for Possession of an open container of alcohol. The passenger was identified as Gary R. Green, age 56 of Canastota and Utica. There were no injuries to the responding officers or bus passengers.
Green was arraigned on the charges in New Hartford Court before Village Justice James VanSlyke. Green was committed to Oneida County Jail in lieu of $500 bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court on January 6th for further court proceedings.
